To Drysdale Club song is almost identical to the Hawthorn theme song (to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy), but for inserting the word Drysdale, AND the word ‘counts’ in place of ‘talks’ after ‘team work is the thing that …..”.  No one is sure why this is the case as ‘talks’ certainly rhymes better, but over the years our boys have added singing ’4.3.2.1.’ with gusto after ‘counts’ and it is now firmly embedded into our club culture.
